It’s so real for so many mamas. It’s not talked about. It’s not addressed. You don’t hear about it. But it is definitely a thing. I felt it. Hormone imbalance. Anxiety. Stress. Overwhelmed. Not feeling like your normal self. Call it what you want.
Becoming a new mama or a mama of two, three, four…it flips your world upside down! That new adjustment brings on all sorts of excitement and joy, but it also brings major life changes and it takes a toll – physically, emotionally and hormonally.
Here’s what I would say to the mama who just doesn’t feel like herself…
Mama, you are going to feel so tired. You are going to feel so overwhelmed at times. You won’t feel like yourself for awhile. You may not recognize that person you see in the mirror. You may have waves of anxiety. You will worry about that new little life, for the rest of your life. There will be days that you will cry and not really understand why. You will have moments where you feel like you can’t do it and times that you don’t feel good enough to be a mama. Don’t believe that lie for one second. You are doing great! And in the moment of anxiety, take a deep breath and know that you are AMAZING. Know that you will get through this season and that you are NOT alone.
