“Why do I even try?” I ask myself, as I’m cleaning up the same thing for the hundredth time…spot treating the stains from chocolate ice cream on their clothes, knowing full well that they will be just as stained the next time. As I wipe the little fingerprints off of the glass windows and mirrors. As I pick up the leftover toys at night, knowing that it will look just the same the next morning. As I wipe down the table after snack-time when there are still many meals to go. As I fold their clothes and put them nicely in their drawers.
Why do I even try?
We try because we’re Mamas. We try because we love so deeply. We try because we care. We try because it’s the most important. We try because we’re leading by example. We try because even though it feels never-ending, we keep putting one foot in front of the other to be the best moms that we know how to be.
Keep trying, Mamas! Let’s push past the attitude of “Why do I even try?” Let’s instead, choose joy in what feels like the mundane, never-ending projects around the house. The constant dirty laundry means that there is plenty to wear. The sink full of dishes is a sign of full bellies. The fingerprints around the house shows that there is life in our homes.
Keep trying. Keep loving deeply. You are an amazing, mama!
